For International Medical Graduates:

  • We do sponsor J-1 visas. Generally, we do not sponsor H-1 visas but will consider on a case-by-case basis.
  • It is helpful to have U.S. experience, but it is not required.
  • We will grant an interview without the Evaluation Status Letter from the Medical Board of California, but you will need to bring to the interview a copy of the acknowledgment receipt from the Medical Board indicating that they have received your application.
  • International medical graduates requesting residency training are required by State law to qualify for full licensure in the State of California.  We require that you have your ECFMG Certificate, have taken and passed your USMLE Steps I and II, and have no stipulations on your Evaluation Status Letter from the Medical Board of California prior to commencing training.
