Didactics & Conferences

 

The curriculum is highly academic in structure, and the Program dedicates at least 8 hours a week

to regularly-scheduled lectures and conferences.

  • Morning Report (8:00-8:30 am daily)
    • run by the Dep’t Chair, Program Director, and at least 1 other faculty member
  • Inter-Department Conferences (7:30-8:30 am, Wednesdays)
    • Gastroenterology Conference
    • Oncology Conference
    • Critical Care Conference
    • ACGME Core Conference
  • EKG Conference (7:30-8:00 am, monthly)
    • conducted by the Chief of Cardiology and/or Associate Program Director
  • Summer Core Lectures (12:00-1:00 pm, daily except Fridays)
    • special core curriculum lectures and clinical training sessions for interns
  • Medicine Noon Conference (12:00-1:00 pm, daily except Fridays)
    • special lectures by nationally-recognized experts
  • Journal Club (12:00-1:00 pm, monthly)
    • 2 critically-appraised articles presented per session
  • Medicine Board Review (12:00-1:00 pm, weekly)
    • interactive audio-visual MKSAP review
  • Annual Einstein Lecture
    • formal scientific meeting with a nationally-recognized speaker
    • tribute to Dr. Hans Einstein (faculty; foremost authority on Coccidioidomycosis)
